Thursday 19 November, 10am-4pm

HElix Arts’s Useful Stuff for Artists is back bringing you more free training and CPD opportunities. We asked you what kind of things would be useful, and have programmed just that!

We are offering multiple workshops across the day so when you book your ticket you will also need to make a selection of the workshops you would like to attend.

Please read the workshop descriptions to make sure they are right for you, you are also welcome to give us a call or drop us an email if you aren’t quite sure and want to chat about your options.

A free lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Being Your Own CEO, 10am – 4pm, Rachel Adam
As a freelance artist you are juggling many things – you need to be your own CEO, Creative Director, Finance Manager, Delivery Driver and many other things too. Demands of day-to-day delivery can get in the way of you having the vital time to wear your CEO ‘hat’ and think longer term about the bigger picture of your practice.

This workshop creates space for you to reflect on your vision and purpose and what you aim to achieve as an artist. We will explore the values that underpin your work and the goals and priorities you have for the next 1 – 3 years.

Working individually, in pairs and small groups, by the end of the workshop you will have identified your next steps and achievable actions that support your goals. There will also be work sheets and prompt questions to take away, that you can re-use anytime you need some further CEO headspace.

Ethical Collaboration with Communities, 10am – 4pm, Amy Goulding
A practical workshop exploring how artists work with communities in ways that are thoughtful, reciprocal and accountable. We’ll consider questions of power, consent, representation, authorship and responsibility, alongside practical approaches to building relationships and collaborative processes. The workshop invites participants to reflect on their own practice and develop tools for ethical, meaningful forms of community collaboration.
